OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Lifelong southwest Oklahoma City resident, Michael Brooks-Jimenez, made his candidacy official today by filing for State Senate District 44 with the Oklahoma State Election Board.

“For me, Senate District 44 isn’t just another place on the map—it’s been home for all my life.” Brooks-Jimenez said. “It’s where I established my business, where I go to church, and where I send my kids to school.”

“Today, I’m filing for office because It’s time to restore trust and bring integrity back to Senate District 44,” Brooks-Jimenez said. “For far too long, families have been overlooked and failed by politicians at the State Capitol. It’s why we need new leadership who will put families before politics; not another career politician looking for the next job.”

“Every election, Oklahomans have a choice. And this year, the choice could not be more clear” Brooks-Jimenez said. “Four-day school weeks and balancing the budget on the backs of Oklahoma families is unacceptable. We can’t continue to elect the same kind of people that got us into this mess in the first place. It’s time for a change.”

Michael has been married to Jessica Martinez-Brooks for over 17 years. They have two children, Joaquin, 10, and Lucy, 5.
He currently attends St. James Catholic Church. A graduate of Mount St. Mary High School, Michael earned his juris doctorate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law.

Senate District 44 encompasses southwest Oklahoma City.
